How to clean ugg boots

Ugg boots as you’re probably aware are very easy to stain and it’s most likely too late to tell you to be very careful with them because the leather soaks liquids and stains better than most sponges. Instead we’ll focus on salvaging your ugg boots and restoring them to their past glory. First up you’ll need to evaluate how likely the following instructions are likely to help. If you’ve stained your ugg boots with fat, paint or anything else of this nature the procedure will most likely result in only moderate improvements. If you’re unlucky enough to have this type of stain your ugg boots are going to require a serious shampoo.

Light Clean

1. Brush away any dust with a lint free brush or slightly damp cloth
2. With a damp cloth scrub the entire ugg boot. Be gentle.
3. Fill you boots with paper towels or socks, this will ensure the boots maintain their shape while drying.
4. Leave the boots in a dry spot out of direct sunlight. The boots need to dry very gently, if they get too hot while damp they will shrink.
5. Insert a single teaspoon of baking powder; this will absorb any unpleasant odours.
6. Allow 1-2 days for your boots to dry.

Serious Shampoo

1. Follow steps 1 and 2 from above
2. You will need to source leather/suede shampoo. Woolworths and Coles usually sell this.
3. Lightly scrub your boots with a warm mixture of the leather shampoo. You will need to scrub all parts not just the affected areas.
4. Follow steps 4 to 6 from above
